Between March and June the front garden was home to hundreds of ladybirds. There were three different colourways. The more usual red with seven black spots, but there were also some red with two black spots and some black with red spots.
We watched them for weeks; they ate greenfly, they mated, laid eggs, the eggs hatched and ladybird larvae ate the greenfly on the apple tree and then pupated and then emerged as ladybirds again. And all before our very eyes.
At the end of it all, we gathered together the art work and photographs and made this display.
We also made a book which I will tell you about later because I haven't photographed it yet.
